Charlie Craddock - formerly Anthony Nolan's Medical Director and current Chair of our Science and Medical Committee - was named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in this year’s New Year’s Honours List.

This honour comes as recognition for the huge amount of work that Charlie has done for medicine and medical research in the UK; not only in his role as consultant haematologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham but also as the Chair of the Stem Cell Oversight Committee and Professor of Haemato-oncology at the University of Birmingham.

He has also been a valuable friend and adviser to Anthony Nolan.

Henny Braund, Anthony Nolan's Chief Executive, said,

'We are working closely with Charlie at the moment on our shared vision for a stem cell transplantation network within the UK, and this award goes some way to recognising the valuable and essential role he plays in medical research in this country.'
